Airfields
The AIRFIELDS are a series of paintings which emerged during the pandemic. They are based on photographs I took of the deserted tarmac at SFO in 2020. I love the stripings and colors on the ground at SFO and have been taking pictures of the airfield for many years, but I had never seen it so empty. It struck me as equally beautiful and terrifying and I started making paintings in 2021.
